Fluorescent electrical fibres in a mouse heart, observed using a fluorescence microscope. The Connexin 40 protein expressed by the conducting cells is coupled to green fluorescent protein (GFP). This allows research scientists to observe the electrical system in control adult mice or mice affected by cardiac diseases.

Our work is guided by the way scientists question the world around them and we translate their research into images to help people to understand the world better and to awaken their curiosity and wonderment.
